Beginners Yoga

In this class, the basic, foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated.  You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement.

Class Schedule

All Levels of Yoga

To fully benefit from the fruits of a strong yoga practice, the student must first understand discernment in the body and the mind. Through a series of slow vinyasa and strength-building classic yoga poses, the student is guided to a better grasp of how much energy to use as well as when to engage muscles and when to relax them. This, in turn, assists with the calming and skillfulness of the mind. Class begins each time with a series of familiar warm-up poses, then moves on to a fun and challenging journey of flexibility, balance and strength building poses. Each class ends with a deep relaxation, possibly with one or two restorative poses along the way. This class prepares new students for a lifelong path of yoga and can also be enjoyed by seasoned yoga practitioners. Inform the instructor of any recent surgery or currently active injuries. Intermediate and advanced students may request to have increased difficulty from the instructor who will modify to accommodate where possible.

Class Schedule

Hatha Yoga

In this class, postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Through breathing exercises in combination with physical poses, Hatha yoga seeks to cleanse and connect the mind and body.  You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body's range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.

Class Schedule

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is a dynamic style of yoga which joins physical postures, or asanas, with inhales and exhales, creating a steady rhythm.  This class weaves a series of yoga postures through traditional Sun Salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, twists, and creative transitioning.  Our Flow classes are designed to cultivate heat in the body and ease the mind of stress while improving strength and flexibility.

Class Schedule

Yin & Yang (Slow Flow)

Yin and Yang Yoga (Slow Flow) is a blend of yin and yang modalities for a balanced yoga practice. The class blends the heating elements of yang, with cooling yin poses. As a result, the practice nourishes and balances the entire body. Yang involves muscular strength and endurance of such modalities as vinyasa and hatha yoga. The yin portion includes long-held poses that are floor-based and well supported. yin increases muscular flexibility and enhances strength and flexibility.

Chakra Balancing Yoga

The Sanskrit word chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body that regulate invisible energy, called prana, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive. The spinal column is the center around which the seven energy wheels revolve. All of the movements and breathing techniques used in this class aim to free and develop the chakras by opening and freeing the passage within the spinal cord where they vibrate and flow.

Class Schedule

Functional Yoga

Functional Yoga classes are beginner friendly and encourage approaching your practice and body with a sense of curiosity, playfulness and lots of love and compassion. These classes use props like blocks, straps, tennis balls and blankets so modifications can be made in a way that makes poses accessible to all body types and capabilities. The goal of this class is for you to have the knowledge and ability to be able to modify your practice no matter what physical challenge life throws at you.

Early Morning Yoga: Rise & Shine Vinyasa

Early morning yoga is an opportunity to recalibrate the alignment of mind, body, and breath. In this every morning class, we welcome the body to a new day. Breath becomes the focus by which we relieve tension from the joints, spine, digestive system, and the primary muscle groups. This class is an opportunity to pause and recalibrate the alignment of the mind, body and breath so you leave feeling present and alive.

Class Schedule

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is intended to take the mindfulness that is found in all disciplines of yoga to the next level. It’s still and slow, and it’s as much (or more) about the mind as it is the body. It is the centering of your breath and body - aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. We will use props to assist in helping to hold poses longer.
